Definition of Procedure Text

Procedure text is a text talk about or give information about how to make something. Procedure Text adalah salah satu jenis teks bahasa Inggris atau yang biasa disebut genre yang menunjukan sebuah proses dalam membuat atau mengoprasikan sesuatu yang berfungsi untuk menggambarkan bagaimana sesuatu dikerjakan melalui langkah-langkah yang teratur.

Purpose of Procedure Text

Tujuan Komunikatif dari Procedure Text adalah memberikan petunjuk tentang cara melakukan sesuatu melalui tindakan-tindakan atau langkah-langkah yang urut.

Generic Structures of Procedure Text

Text yang bercerita tentang tutorial ini memiliki tiga struktur umum (Generic Structure) yaitu sebagai berikut :

• Aim/ Goal

Pada struktur kebahasaan bagian pertama dari Procdeure Text ini berisi informasi mengenai tujuan dalam pembuatan atau pengoprasian sesuatu.

• Materials/Ingridients

Pada bagian ke-dua, Materials terdiri dari bahan-bahan yang digunakan dalam membuat sesuatu. Tapi tidak semua Procedure Text menyertakan bagian materials, adakalanya sebuah Procedure Text tidak memiliki bagian materials.

• Steps/Procedures

Pada bagian steps, berisi tentang langkah-langkah atau urutan-urutan yang harus dilakukan agar tujuan yang diuraikan pada bagian Aim/ Goal bisa tercapai. Langkah-langkah atau urutan-urutan tersebut haruslah urut dari yang pertama hingga terakhir.

Grammar Used

Terdapat beberapa ciri kebahasaan dalam Procedure Text, diantaranya yaitu:

• Menggunakan pola kalimat imperative (Perintah), misalnya, Cut, Don’t mix, dsb.
• Menggunakan action verbs, misalnya turn, put, don’t, mix, dsb.
• Menggunakan connectives (kata penghubung) untuk mengurutkan kegiatan, misalnya then, while,  dsb. 
• Menggunakan adverbials (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan rinci waktu, tempat, cara yang akurat,  misalnya for five minutes, 2 hours, dsb.
• Menggunakan simple present.

Second, Peel onions, garlics and chilies and slice them
Then, Pour them into the bowl and add some salt
After that beat the mixture                                                        
Next, heat the oil then pour the mixture into the frying pan
Meanwhile cook the omelet for five minute
Finally serve the omelet

How to make a glass of Tea

Ingredients : A pack of Tea, Sugar, Tea spoon, Glass, Ice Cube,

First, put of two teaspoons sugar into a glass of water
Second, dip a pouch of tea in to the glass for a while until the water changing color into red
Then stir the tea until the sugar dissolved
Next, add some ice-cubes
Finally, the ice tea ready to drink.

Roasted Sandwich

Ingredients:
10 pieces of rectangular white bread
5 boiled eggs
5 rectangular cheeses
1 tomato
1 carrot
1 cucumber
Mayonnaise

How to make:
Peel the boiled eggs and put it in a bowl. Take your ponder and mash the eggs up.
Cut tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots into the small pieces or you can make it to be diced. Place into the bowl containing the eggs and have been pounded earlier.
Rub the mayonnaise on the bread as your taste and then insert the cheese into the oven in about 3 minutes. After that, rub the cheese on the top of your bread.
Put the sliced cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, and off course your eggs are on the top of cheese and bread. Place a piece of bread on the top as the last layer.
